Bessie (Gleason) Atwood, 1892

      Bessie E. Atwood, a former Lewiston resident, died Saturday at a Boise area nursing home. She was 79.
      She was born April 6, 1892, at Forest Grove, Ore and later lived at Lewiston, where she was a member of the Laurel Chapter 13, Order of the Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge, Alpha 2.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Atwood, and had lived at Hemet, Calif. before moving to Boise several years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Hemet.
      She is survived by two sons, Robert of Boise and James of Packwood, Wash., a brother, Charles Gleason of Orofino and a sister, Violet Willhite of Washougal, Wash.
      Also surviving are four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
      Private services were followed by cremation and the remains were in-urned at Moscow Cemetery.
